Ballet Heels in public
This shoot with Kelly Saabel was a step into the unknown, quite literally. It was her first time wearing ballet heels, and we took it straight to a public bridge with no quiet corners or backup plan. Full latex from the waist down, paired with a short matte black latex skirt and a cropped puffer jacket, gave her both visual strength and just enough cover to move with focus. The combination of elegance and risk was exactly what I wanted to explore here.
The bridge location already held some energy from our last session there, but this time the stakes were higher. Every step Kelly took in those heels was deliberate, balancing physical tension with outward calm. People passed by, traffic moved, but she stayed in it, owning the moment without hesitation. That kind of controlled vulnerability gives a very different edge than studio work.
Visually, the lines came together beautifully: the vertical cables of the bridge, the fading light, the shine of the latex catching the cold tones of dusk. This wasn’t about showing off the shoes. It was about showing what it takes to stand in them. Kelly did that, and more.
